Amy Strauss
Amy Strauss is a media and public relations consultant with nearly 20 year of experience in the field. With a passion for pitching, she has successfully placed numerous stories/interviews and developed media relations strategies for a variety of travel-related clients through Weirick Communications, Inc., based in Columbus, Ohio. These clients include Ohio’s Hocking Hills region, the Inn at Cedar Falls in the Hocking Hills, Cherry Valley Lodge in Newark, Ohio, the city of Mansfield/Richland County (Ohio), Real Amish Experiences in Berlin, Ohio and Experience Columbus, the marketing and public relations component of the Greater Columbus Convention and Visitors Bureau.
In addition to the above mentioned clients, Ms. Strauss has also consulted for Wendy’s Restaurants Charities Foundation, Duke Properties, Forbes Magazine, the Northwest Ohio Regional Growth Partnership, based in Toledo, Ohio and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation. Since moving to the Detroit area, she has provided media and public relations services to several southeast Michigan-based companies and organizations including the Detroit RiverFront Conservancy, the Parade Company, Cranbrook, Mexicantown Community Development Association and Ann Arbor-based InfoLab.
Ms. Strauss and her husband David have two children and live in Farmington Hills. In her spare time, she lends her media relations skills as a volunteer for Friends of Suzette, Eagle Elementary School, the Weinstein Theatre Enrichment Fund and Adat Shalom Synagogue.
