Nancy Sarpolis has more than 30 years of experience in global strategic communications development and implementation. She started her communications career at AAA Michigan, working her way up to a management role after starting as an intern. Her career experience includes 12 years with General Motors in a variety of communication roles, including several years providing comprehensive communications support to 12 GM automobile manufacturing plants. Nancy also worked for Meritor, a global B2B supplier to the commercial vehicle and industrial markets, where she was responsible for implementing communications to drive understanding of the company’s strategic business plans and financial goals.
Her consulting work includes a variety of manufacturing clients such as Kellogg, Visteon and Ultimation Industries. She is especially proud that a recent hand safety campaign for a client helped reduce injuries by nearly 50 percent.
Nancy joined Markit Strategies in 2020 as a public relations strategist. Nancy’s most recent Markit Strategies account work was for a cloud-based ERP software provider focused on the manufacturing industry with a strong platform partnership with SAP.
She is a past president of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) and is currently serving on the IABC Detroit Board of Directors. The 2019 IABC Heritage Region Communication Conference, which Nancy co-chaired, was one of the most successful in the region’s history. She has earned numerous IABC awards for writing, intranet content development and communication management.
Nancy earned a Master of Science in Business Administration from Central Michigan University and a bachelor’s degree in English with a Communications minor from the University of Michigan-Dearborn. A traveler who has been to 30 countries, she recently launched “Stirring Up Adventure,” a blog centered around cooking and travel adventures.
