Prathima Ramesh

Prathima Ramesh has over a dozen years of experience in public relations, media relations and marketing communications. Her key expertise are managing local and national media relations campaigns, writing press releases and developing content for marketing communications. She also has a strong background in market research using secondary research methodologies for creating reports such as competitive analysis, media coverage analysis, etc. In addition, Ramesh is proficient in pitching, organizing and managing media related events, tours and film shoots. Prathima served as a media relations specialist for client Plex Systems (www.plex.com) from 2010-2013.

Prior to joining the Markit Strategies and PR team, Ramesh was a publicist at The Henry Ford, a nonprofit cultural institution in Dearborn, Mich. In that role, she was responsible for planning and execution of local and regional media relations efforts. She has also secured television and radio coverage for the institution’s programs and exhibits. Ramesh also wrote the content and managed the design and production of media kits for several major history exhibits.

Earlier in her career, Ramesh worked for Airfoil Public Relations, a leading high-tech public relations agency in Michigan. As an account executive, she was responsible for executing communication plans for large to small-sized local and national technology companies including Microsoft Corporation (field public relations), Microsoft Automotive, Dynamic Computer Corporation, The Epitec Group, ProQuest, Fry, Inc. etc. She was also responsible for executing the agency’s marketing communications efforts.

Ramesh holds a master’s degree in organizational communication and public relations from Wayne State University and a master’s degree in mass communication and journalism from P.S.G. College of Arts and Sciences in Coimbatore, India.
